We are learning how to read and write scientific reports. We have been doing experiments and writing about them. This is a reading activity we did. We had to be able to match a title for a report with a wondering question.

Freezing Water.	What will happen if you mix vinegar and baking soda?
Floating and Sinking.	What will happen to an ice cube if you take it out of the freezer?
Kitchen Chemistry.	Which materials make the best insulators?
Disappearing Water.	What happens when you put a container of water into a freezer?
Keep Your Cool.	What will happen to a puddle of water on a hot day?
Ice Cube Experiment.	Does Blutack float?

This week we went to Auckland Zoo for a Zoofari. We slept in the old elephant house. The boys slept in Kashin's stall and the girls slept in Burma's stall. We saw lots of animals but my favourite were the spider monkeys. They are so cute! We had to do an animal report on an animal in the Auckland Zoo.
I chose the capybaras. I got a picture of them but unfortunately they were hiding from me! Here is a picture of the capybaras. Can you find them?

My basic facts progress 2017

Here is my basic facts progress for this year. In Term 1, I was working on Stage 6 and I got a score of 33/60. In Term 2, my basic facts score for Stage 6 was 53/60. I love maths but I think I still have to work on my division facts.
